Nahum Gutman – born Bessarabia 1898. Immigrated 1905. Studied art in Tel-Aviv, Bezalel Jerusalem, and also in Europe. Exhibited in Paris, Brussels, Venice, Sao Paulo, Boston, New York, and in other countries. Famous for distinctive illustrative style. Illustrated children's books and was awarded Israel prize for children's literature. Died in 1980.
